Welcome to The Road to Arda Healed, a scholarship-focused substack about the works of J.R.R. Tolkien (with an emphasis on the character Sauron). You can find out more about me, Cameron, over on the About page.

This blog will function as a space for collecting some of my more scholarship-focused thoughts relating to Tolkien (and often specifically Sauron); it takes over this role from my previous blog, ObsessionOfChoice.net, which will, going forward, be a broader space for writings about… well whatever obsession I choose, often in a more casual voice. Obsession of Choice itself took over these roles in 2022 from my 2019 tumblr micro-blog, where a lot of my recent Tolkien scholarship first “sprouted” from seeds that had been germinating since the mid 90’s. This blog may include some cross-posted content moved over from Obsession of Choice, and I will identify those posts as this happens.

I will be sharing information about my conference and published papers here, but I also have a central website for this information over at CameronBourquein.com.
